I was skimming through YouTube, and came upon this clip. The song used in the MV is called “Te wo tsunagou” (Let’s hold hands) by ayaka. I knew there’s something about her voice that was so familiar.
Turns out that ayaka is also the same artist who sang “I believe” (”Rondo” theme song - japanese drama collaboration starring Yutaka Takenouchi & Choi Ji Woo)
Wow, she has one heck of a voice! And she only debuted two years ago?! ZOMG.
Even though I prefer ballads than her upbeat ones, but yeah, this girl can definitely sing. Her live performances are excellent! No pitchy notes, very confident and truly a great singer. I think she just made myself a new fan of hers now. Haha. And this is coming from me who rarely listen to jpop.
“Te wo tsunagou” will definitely be on the top of my jpop playlist from now on. And the fact that the song was used for the upcoming Doraemon movie, “Nobita and the Green Giant Legend 2008″ premiered last March 8th in Japan, is just SUPER! Oh, and her 2nd album is coming out this summer! YAY!
Another exciting thing to report is that her newest single, Okaeri (Welcome Home) is the main theme of the highly anticipated (read: Da Hottest) Fuji TV’s dorama “Zettai Kareishi” (Absolute Boyfriend) (still airing in Japan, up to episode 3) I better watch this drama soon, ㅋㅋㅋ
