Alex-Shinae couple’s squabble “I was disappointed”
It was a long time coming, or should I say, “So this is how they carry out Shinae’s comment a few weeks ago: ‘I want to try quarrelling with Alex oppa.’ In last night’s episode of “We Got Married” (Episode 18), Alex-Shinae couple had their first little couple’s quarrel.
And it all started with Shinae’s remark, “Oh, so your album came out?”
And I just had to rant a bit here (a bit???), and I don’t intend to rant about AlShin couple. Ever again. I guess this one is inevitable. I know it’s 20% scripted, 80% reality, or so they say. But for her to make a remark like that, to me it sounds a bit “HUH?” Though apparently they filmed this episode 2 weeks after the album came out, I didn’t buy that Shinae didn’t know about Alex’s album got released already. I wish they used a more natural and in a ‘real-time’ quarrelling (like what happened with Crown J-In Young couple, which I’ll explain later), rather than using Alex’s album, the main reason they were apart for almost two months, as the main ‘excuse’ for it.
Shinae had to ask why he hasn’t given her the album yet (as a gift, ’cause apparently everyone she knew, got one as a gift, except her. Does this make any sense? To me, it doesn’t.) So, being Alex, he just assumed that she hasn’t listened to the album yet since she asked him like that. Then she told him that his fans gave it to her as a gift for her to use them for her blog’s background song. Alex got a bit excited, and thought she had actually listened to it, because his fans gave her his songs. Shinae answered, “That’s why I haven’t listened to them yet.” (And Alex went, “???”)
My rant continues…
Okay, fine. She wanted to know how Alex would react in certain situation, but I wish she knew how special this album is for the both of them. Maybe not too pleasant for Shinae because they had to be apart because of Alex’s album. But for Alex, since it is his first album, he had wanted it to be known. Like he said in the black room interview, they had to be apart because of his album. He had expected her to lie if she really didn’t have time to listen to his album yet. But for me, to say like, “That’s why I haven’t listened to them yet (when I already got them from your fans)” it’s too silly to say.
(Ahh, I’m so not buying this whole friggin quarrel crap, but whatever. I still love AlShin couple lol)
Then, finally, the truth came out. In Shinae’s interview, she revealed to the audience (and to Alex as well) that she actually did listen to his songs when Alex’s fans gave her the whole album even before the album got released. And from Alex’s expression, I can tell he wasn’t too thrilled to hear that either. And I don’t blame him for that. (Yes, I blame the scriptwriter! and the PD!)
So there, we have it. Alex-Shinae’s first (sentimental? emotional?) tug of war quarrel. If there is a poll, and I can choose which couple quarrels I like the best in last night episode, my vote goes to Crown J and Seo In Young couple. Why? Because theirs doesn’t seem artificial and “made-up”. (By ‘made-up’ I meant like, “Let’s go make a scenario and let them have a little quarrel for a change.’) Crown J - In Young couple’s quarrel happened naturally like that, since it was in the spur of the moment. In Young made some comment about how she might got sick because of Andy, and Crown J freaked out. The moment Andy’s name is mentioned, we all can see how worked up Crown J got, and his little ‘thug’ jealousy is super cute to me. Haha. Crown J is really adorable. Watching them like that, I can actually smile, rather than frown or irritated.
But looking at it again, I guess the ‘official’ theme for last night’s WGM episode supposed to be, “Let’s have a little fight!” instead of, “We are…. married! Taking care of your spouse as you are a married couple.” HA.
(special thanks to my dear purpletiger86 for the surprise gift hehe… otherwise I wouldn’t be able to rant right away hahaha)
PS: There were some cute moments too, despite of the squabble. And the whole Alex’s brushing Shinae’s hair at the studio (and she didn’t even realize it one bit O_O) it was all good. So sweet, and his song playing in the background is an absolute… perfection.
Next week’s prevew, they’re going to FM4U Blue Night studio! Woohoo~~~ Excited~~
If they filmed this in real time, they were at the studio around midnight till about 2 am’ish. Wow.

Aww, Shenny, I feel the same. I’m so hating this whole PD crap. I say give them their missions and let them play it out as they should.
I already posted my thoughts on last night’s episode in the main thread so I won’t do it here. But I will say that I felt really sad for Alex. I feel he’s putting his all into this and she isn’t.

Thanks for the rants..>I really do enjoyed this rants ‘ ;p ‘ and couldn’t agreed on you more. Arghhh… I just wanna scream on how ‘idioit’ the ‘create a situation for them to quarrel’ the production want then to be. As you said, I enjoyed Crown J and In Young natural quarrels and fights because it comes out naturally. As for Shin Ae’s started out with that question I think it is not so wise of her but then she is kind hard to understand, huh ? But all the painful moments that Alex feel is paid when he heard actually she has listened to it and even used it as her background music.
Can’t wait for the next episodes too!!
I’m beginning to think that the PD, scriptwriters and editors are being delusional or something. (Being an anti seems too far-streched). They can let other couples to do things naturally - as ‘natural’ as it can get on a variety show - and have pretty good editing to having an okay air time but SOMEHOW they fail to do the same for AlShin after all the hyped-up events they created?
*sighs*
I try not to think too much into it, but sometimes it’s hard not to. Especially not when AlShin isn’t being judged fairly by the general audience. It’s like you’re fighting a losing war.
It doesn’t mean I’ll stop rooting for them, though. I just hope Shinae will put more effort into the ‘relationship’ because so far, Alex has always been the one who initiate things. He’s not the only one frustrated. x_x
Having said that, thanks a lot for the ‘rants’. It helps to know some people share the same feelings over this. ;DD
Shin Ae has been so “iffy” since she and Alex reunited. Some of the stuff I’ve been reading about her leads me to question, like, what is she thinking? Gotta wonder. I do feel sorry for Alex cause he’s being pretty patient with her but I figure that even this will last only so long. And a note to the PD–leave ‘em alone! Those of us who are watching are not stupid. We know “staged” when we see it. All this aside, I still enjoy watching Alex and Shin Ae. I always appreciate the updates!
@ Karen: I believe since their reunion, her iffy actions is somehow half of it is created. As their wedding photographer said that she indeed is comfortable and didn’t awkward at all when they are off screen.
All of us has agreed that PD’s has edited their scenes for them to look awkward and Shin Ae’s seem iffy towards Alex.

@Karen: Me too feel sorry for Alex.
I enjoy watching AlShin but I always feel that their acting relationship is not close like Andy and Solbi. ShinAe is an actress, she should act out her role as a ‘wife’. After all it’s a variety show anything beyond that it’s their business.

I dunno. Maybe some things just get lost in translation. Maybe she wanted to show Alex that she’d want to listen to his songs the moment he himself have given her the songs. Maybe that’s why she answered “that’s why I haven’t listened to them yet”
@ dreamelephant: I thought that too. At first I thought she had said that because she wanted to imply that she hadn’t listened to his album yet because she wanted to wait for him to give it to her, making it more special. But then like someone mentioned it can go both ways and I guess Alex took it the other way instead.
I think I may have left out a few important stuff during my rant session *lol*, but it’s like this: after Shinae said, “That’s why haven’t listened to them yet.” Alex was like, “Oh, so though my fans already gave you my songs/my album, that’s why you haven’t listened to them yet?” first in jokingly tone, but then you can see his expression gradually changed. He got really disappointed because well, I don’t blame him to be that sensitve because Shinae was kinda ignoring him and didn’t say anything else except looking at the photowall (from the CD) and said like, “Aww the doggy is so cute…”

As an AlShin supporter, I’m seriously clobbering myself for saying this but i always get this feeling that SA seems to think that Alex is not good enough for her. She confuses me - sometimes she comes across as all humble and sweet; other times she seems really ‘high and mighty’ and plays hard to get. Having said that, i’m still willing to give her the benefit of the doubt where AlShin are concerned. Peace, everyone. ): ): ):
@dihei: that’s okay babe, don’t feel too bad about it. I share the same too, but I’m still trying hard to brush off that feeling because of all the ‘off-screen’ accounts.
Erm, there are a few articles of Shinae that at first I refrained myself from posting them here, because: 1) I don’t know how true it could be (though it was shocking and to me, I just rolled my eyes in disbelief. The Don-don comment, then Kim Goo Ra *this one is rather mild*, and the “Alex is not my ideal man” comment SIGH, yes she said that in one of the articles which I rather not read the rest of it.). And 2). Since I want to still have some hope/faith for AlShin, I thought I won’t elaborate on her articles outside WGM.
However, as an AlShin shipper myself, though we’re going on a rocky road right now, I just want to go back to ‘reality’, and see what kind of game the PD is trying to surprise us. Next week, Blue Night’s studio, again, another sign of “Alex, the romantic guy”, but hopefully they’ll allow Shinae to show some emotions or something out of it. Then in two weeks, we’ll have the beach vacation rite?

I like AlShin couple, but it seems like the scenes that the PD chooses to put on the show nowadays lacks the realness (natural beauty) of both Alex and Shinae. All I see them doing most of the time is clearing out their throats and introducing/bowing to each other (although jokingly). But hello? We’ve seen enough of that stuff already. Don’t get me wrong here, I still adore this couple, but I would really love to see something different.
I agree with you on their attempted quarreling session. That was really lame. When Shinae told Alex that she didn’t have time to listen to his album because she was too busy receiving all the gifts (songs) from his fans, I was thinking in my head…that sure is a dumb excuse. Saying something like that on the show would just make Shinae look bad, as if she is thoughtless or something. I’m sure what she said was not intended to come out like that, but I thought that whole talk was a bit pointless. Of course when we saw what both of them had to say about that during their interview, we find out that Shinae was joking around, but didn’t expect Alex to take it seriously, but who wouldn’t? They were apart for a little less than two months because Alex had to make his album. His album should be nothing but special for the two of them, yet the PD or whoever decides to use the album excuse to make them quarrel. Ha! Very smooth, NOT!
There was an article that I read about Shinae a couple of days ago and I believe it said that Shinae has good communication skills (unless that was a typo). If this is true, why aren’t they putting more scenes of her talking and less of her clearing out her throat and saying “yes yes yes” bowing down. I really don’t have many complaints about Alex because he has been nothing but sweet to Shinae. I trust that Shinae is just as sweet of a person, but for some reason…the PD is not allowing her to SHINE in this show, come on! I know for a fact that Shinae loves kids…show scenes of AlShin playing with kids in the park or doing volunteer work or something! I just want more chemistry! I use to think it was funny that Shinae would always make fun of Alex for being “Blood type A man” (who’s sensitive and always brings back and makes comments about her being “so and so”, for example: spitting on his face, being too strong…etc)…but they always call Alex “blood type A” that it’s getting really old and boring now. From an outsiders point of view (ex: photographer), we all know that AlShin is comfortable with each other, so please show more of those scenes and take out the useless scenes. Any of us fans can do a better job of editing and cutting out great scenes for AlShin couple!

I am quite certain Shin Ae was under the direction of the PD to create ‘tension’. Why can’t the PD just show them for who they really are? Rather than disguising this couple as awkward,etc. We know that they are in fact quite comfortable with one another…so why the pretense of them being awkward?
I agree with purpletiger86…Shin Ae saying silly things like she didn’t listen to his songs…that just makes her look bad.
I’ve been reading some Korean fan sites for Al-Shin and some people are quite upset with Shin Ae. People have startes saying how she is not right for Alex. Truthfully sometimes I think that way too… she has said some unexplicable things (DonDon ideal guy,Alex not her ideal,and the whole CTP thing)…. I just don’t get this girl sometimes. Is she trying to make people petition her and Alex off the show?
Sorry for the rant Shenny..hehehe. I haven’t had the chance to go to soompi for days now….and needed to rant…hehehe.
In any case….I still support Al-Shin…and can’t wait to see what’s in store next week. Just begging the PDs to pleaseee have better editing for them. They deserve better quality air time.

I’m quite disappointed though,watching this episode, but still love this couple…
But i have questioning myself about Alshin’s couple. I know some of you guys disappointed to ShinAe act towards Alex, which seen quite disrespectful to Alex. But somehow, I just thought that ShinAe actions were part of PD missions. My thought is based on WGM itself. WGM is semi scripted reality show,right? So, basically they’ve been told about the script, but later depend on actress and actor who bring out the atmosphere. So, if Alshin’s couple action are out of script, naturally the PD should give them (in this case ShianAe) some special warning, right?? But somehow, ShinAe’s ignorance towards Alex happen over and over again. So basically, the PD also want or DEMAND ShinAe to act like that to ALex. The PD support ShinAe ignorance towards Alex!!
I couldn’t decide, does ShinAe’s ignorance were part of ShinAe’s natural behaviour (real) or just acting it out…But no matter wht the reason, the PD agree with it!!
I have no idea, what the PD’s aim to this couple…But i really hope he make the right decisions…
Maybe, I should laid back everytime seeing WGM….but it’s really hard…
