Alex wouldn’t sing his own song to propose…

As we all knew since days ago that Alex’d appeared on KBS2 Yoon Do Hyun Love Letter music show. His first performance was this romantic song originally sung by Loveholic, “Flowerpot” (Hwaboon). The song that was brought famous by Alex ever since he sang it on the day of their farewell. In which many of the fans still think of the song as the last ‘before-we-said-goodbye’ dedication, honoring their love.

After Alex performed his ’signature’ song “If it were you”, Yoon Do Hyun asked him a question, “You know, Kwon Sang Woo-ssi sang this song when he proposed to Son Tae Young-ssi. Alex-ssi, do you plan to propose to your (future) gf using your own song?”

Alex answered, “I wouldn’t sing my own song because it’d be too weird, but I might ask someone else to do it for me.” Then, in return, Alex asked back, “Yoon Do Hyun-ssi, would you do it, please?” And Yoon Do Hyun’s answer was something like, “Yes, Alex-ssi. I would sing my song “After sending you” while crying…” which made everybody else laughed.

There was a Q&A time during the ‘talk’ period when Yoon Do Hyun allowed the audience to ask their questions for Alex. As Alex is labelled as the “Romantic Guy” from “We Got Married” show, he allowed the guys who have girlfriends to thrown in their questions. (Too bad this article doesn’t mention about the audience’s questions for Alex, and I still have yet to watch the episode myself)

Meanwhile, it is a reminder that Alex’s first solo concert is coming up soon on Sept 6-7 in Ewha Women University Auditorium. (I still regret it to this very minute that I wouldn’t attend his first concert. :( Hopefully there will be a DVD available to purchase. Would love to buy it, fo’sho!)

I wasn’t planning to add this section, but since my download was just finished, I thought I’d add a few more thoughts about this fun show :)

As always, I really enjoy Yoon Do Hyun Love Letter show since he always brings the best guests ever. And this time with Alex, ahhhh~~ this would be the second time after Alex’s album came out? He’s been there with his Clazziquai buddies, but yeah, I think this is the second time. He showed up with Sung Shi Kyung before, and nailed a number of great songs like “Ebony and Ivory”, remember?

“Hwaboon” sounded very different, but I totally like the arrangement somehow. A bit more up-tempo and the drumbeats totally worked real well! The electric guitar, OMG. Love love love. He picked this song as his entrance song, which totally made sense since Yoon Do Hyun introduced him as the “Romantic Guy, Alex” :) OMG, the ending part. Excuse me while I do my fangirl’s scream…. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

LOL.

OK, I’m calm. I’m okay.

Hwaboon — Great, excellent arrangement. Singing-wise. Musical-wise.
Even Yoon Do Hyun agreed with me as well. He couldn’t hold it himself and said, “Wow… Hwaboon… I like!” Then tried to re-sing it himself, haha.

After that, when Alex did the on-the-spot singing while they were talking and sitting on the bench, aigoo… omona… sesange… lol. Seriously, his voice is totally at his best tonight :) Totally steals the limelight as the first guest to appear on this show. Nothing else matters now if his segment is only like the first 20 minutes or so :D

(Now about the questions that the guys threw in for Alex, hehe… those questions are really funny, sincere and sweet. Hehe, which is good. I thought it would be awkward for him to listen to those questions live, but I knew Alex would always have something to say, in his diplomatic way. The second guy, the ’sports couple’, he asked if it’s okay for his girlfriend to shake hand with Alex, “She really likes you.” Of course Alex doesn’t mind at all, he walked down and they even bow politely.)

The next performance, “If it were you” again, he changed the arrangement. Though I thought Hwaboon was totally great to be the first song he performed, this romantic song was perfectly fine as the next best thing as well. Again, great performance.

For those of you who downloaded the HD version, pay close attention to somewhere around 23:11-23:16, when Alex’s eyes looked straight into the right camera… the right angle. He was making that eye-contact with his TV-viewer, and it was totally personal. *swoons*

All my “Alex deprived” last night got totally erased by this show ;)

Last song, that English song when he changed his wardrobe and using the mic stand. “Don’t look back in anger” originally sung by Oasis, (songfacts) and darn, I didn’t imagine Alex would do it THIS awesome. Ah, no I’m not bias. LOL. Really. The color of his voice, the whole get-up (without the blazer), the mic stand, and hand-clapping, the ‘rock-and-roll’ style………… OHMYGOODNESS! Rock on, babe!
