The man finally came

ay_link October 3rd, 2008

Alex pays his last respect for Choi Jin Shil, his wife’s older sister
(she is practically his sister-in-law, sigh.)

When I saw pictures for him, and he was wearing specs, though I’m sad to see him in such gloomy expressions, but I can’t help but to smile a bit. He was wearing specs! And after last Sunday, when we saw how Shinae made a comment for him, “Oppa, you look great in glasses. You should be wearing it more.” Aw.  And today, he even wore the specs, so, could it be… ? =)

I have to admit, I’m not liking the glasses very much on him (the frame just doesn’t suit him well), but he does look great in them.  And I can’t help to think, “Oh, he’s wearing the specs because Shinae said he looks great in them! Kyaaaa~” (Sorry, can’t help it)

I understand that the gray clouds are still going around them, Shinae and Alex.  Glad to finally see him paying his last respect for Choi Jin Shil unni, though he’s pictured alone (without Shinae by his side).  Admiring his professionalism and sensitivity to avoid unnecessary scandals if they’re spotted to be together or pictured together.  Pretty sure Alex would hate to be doing that when Shinae is still in the mourning period.  Oh, and the fact that he told his manager to put the message up on her blog is so sweet. Very thoughtful and special in its own way *admire* :)

Meanwhile, in some part of the world, the news media are pretty alert and well covered on Choi Jin Shil’s death.  Even CNN AsiaToronto, and Korea Times all have front-cover headlines about Choi Jin Shil and reading all of them is making me more =(

R.I.P Jin Shil unni!

same here, CJS’ death was even covered in the local news here in my country, it created such a big impact already, and still the Korean Entertainment Industry is still mourning…

actually I was also waiting for Alex to come, to be with Shinae’s side in this dark point in her life, : (

My first thought when I saw footage of him arriving at the wake wasn’t that he looked sad but that he looked OH SO YUMMY! Yes, so bad of me. I can’t help it. I’ve said it once and maybe thrice but I’ll say it again - Alex is totally rockin’ that new hair cut of his!

My heart is heavy though, I cannot even begin to describe the feeling of it. In the blink of an eye, we’ve all lost such a talented, gifted, and precious person. Someone who brightened the room when she walked in. She was a great actress and was truly loved.

I cannot imagine how much pain those close to her are going through, especially her children. Gosh, I wish that they will get through this difficult time.

I saw footage of her funeral procession and right when they were about to lift her in, Shin Ae was screaming and crying and calling out to her and that tore my heart apart. Seeing her collapse like that, be that vulnerable was just heartbreaking. I am glad Alex went to pay his respects, he truly is a great guy. I’m sure he was also there for his wife as well. She needs him in this time of loss.

    Gosh…

Choi Jin Shil unnie, may you rest in peace. You will be truly and dearly missed.

I know it’s a gloomy feel but we’ve to move on. I like the two sentences, “his wife’s older sister” and “she is practically his sister-in-law” kekekeke..
May I know what message did Alex asked his manager to put up on his wife’s blog? pls.
    Thanks.

@koalabear I almost can’t believe how much ‘damage’ of her death is in the Korean industry, especially after the last suicide is still very recent (less than a month) Feels like the whole industry (in Korea, Seoul especially) is totally mourning for her.

Choi Jin Shil unni, I wish I can say I hate you for leaving us like this, but you probably suffered a lot more, and just thinking of that makes me even sadder…

@Jess babe… I don’t know if I can watch that footage… but now I’m all curious. Where did u watch it at? DAUM tv? oh nvm, I just came back from AlShin’s thread… aigoooo…. SIGH… my dear Shinae… poor Shinae… It must be really really super hard for her to say goodbye like that… especially if she didn’t get the chance to meet up with her.

@teokong Alex’s manager wrote something along this line:
“Hello, this is Alex’s manager. Shin Ae-ssi, Alex wanted me to tell you to stay strong. I’m typing this message for him. We’ll contact you later.”

    ^ Thanks for the link!
It’s really something that I can’t watch twice. Too heartbreaking and really the emotions, and just looking at Shinae like that, my heart cries with her…. sigh…

Thanks, Ay_link, for this post. I shifted through 1,000 picts of CJS’s funeral service at the mortuary yesterday afternoon hoping to spot some of Alex attending her wake. It wasn’t until late evening that i managed to spot these photos of him doing so. Very smart of him to wait until much later to avoid any unnecessary scandal between him and SA at this moment in time. Like Jess, i can’t help noticing just how spiffy he looked in that black suit of his. And those specs really look good on him. Then again, you can put a piece of plastic on him and it’ll still look good. LOL! Sorry but a little bit of humour is necessary at these trying times for AlShin, isn’t it? ):

Yes Alex…he came…I’m sooo happy that he, at least, was in shin ae’s side. Hope he always support shin ae forever…

I know CJS is such huge actress in Korea, but I never think that her death also bring huge impact to korean industry. Rest in Peace CJS…

I still contemplate about CJS’s children… Who will take the responsibility for their bright-full life? Is it their ‘unresponsible’ father? or CJS’s brother and mother ? or maybe even shin ae ?? who knows…

Alex is a good man. he went there for Shin ae as well as Ms. Sun…I can’t recall her name who’s husband had just committed suicide earlier last month…

She and Alex are close friends who’ve worked together in radio etc etc…and she and Choi Jin Sil were the best of friends.

so, looking back at the time that Alshin took time apart…Alex definitely got his tidbits on ShinAe’s wellbeing from Ms. Sun and the late Ms. Choi.

In Alshin’s case, they were basically friends with the same people and crowd, but just never had the chance or opportunity to bump into each other and formally introduce themeselves until WGM…
