Han Ji Hye’s “East of Eden” family

I’ve been trying to keep up with the pace of “East of Eden”, the MBC over-budget, all-star power anniversary project. And so, I’ve been watching it backwards. Yup, after watching the first 2 episodes, I jumped to episode 10, then to 14, and 13, and back to 12. LOL. But no worries, if you have managed the first 2 episodes, and skipped to the 10th episode, you can still catch up and save yourself some bloody episodes (literally bloody. Song Seung Hoon got beat up here and there, though it’s all cosmetics, but still. :P)
Well, in this show, you can say from all the girls, Han Ji Hye can totally steal the limelight. Her performance as Ji Hyun is amazingly good. So I’m pretty psych when I first saw these pictures from the news. Han Ji Hye with her co-stars, Jo Min Ki (who plays as her father-in-law) and her on-screen admirer/stalker/obsessed husband, Myung Hun (played by Park Hae Jin).
Who knew they could be so close and goofing around in their PJs? keke…
According to the news, Han Ji Hye wrote in her minihompy, “Our family is really exciting…” while posting these pictures of them goofing around making silly faces in their PJs and comfy clothes. Totally different atmosphere than her role in “East of Eden” as Ji Hyun who hated this marriage ‘arrangement’ with Myung Hun, and the evil father-in-law, Shin Tae Hwan.
As a reaction to her post, lots of netizens posted their comments saying, “I’d never have thought this family could be like this… ” as it’s always so ‘dark’ and gloomy whenever we see her on screen with Shin Tae Hwan and his son, Myung Hun. Meanwhile, Han Ji Hye said that though they’ve been filming day and night for this drama, with that tight schedule, though they get so tired, but as a family, they take care of each other, and also to other colleagues. Thanks to the seniors (Jo Min Ki and Lee Mi Sook are the two seniors for these ‘younger’ actors), the atmosphere in the filming site is always so much fun,” she added.
Looks like they really are having so much fun filming this drama, which is terrific ‘coz they still have months to keep on going as we’re barely on episode 14 (err 36 more to go? hehe) I’ve been liking what I’ve seen so far, though at first it was kinda overwhelming to start a new 50-ep drama again after I’ve finished with SBS “Happiness”. Thanks for the writers of “East of Eden”, I think my faith in longer-episodes K-drama has been stored back slowly but surely. LOL.

I love the drama, It’s really nice.
I didn’t really expect for it to be this good, but I like it a lot since its not boring and those unnecessary details are avoided, so it keeps the plot really interesting.
Aaand besides the fact that SSH is in there and keeps the main focus I really like the girls that act in there :)
I totally agree with you on Han Ji Hye’s acting in this drama. She’s amazing. It was heartbreaking when Dong Wook’s mom tells her to go marry Myung Hun, after what he did to her. I was just like, “WTH!” Omigosh, I have cried so much already watching this drama. Especially, during episodes 10, 11 12. I’m really enjoying this drama though. Except, I’m dependent on english subtitles, so I do fall behind a couple of weeks. But, WithS2 is doing a great job keeping up! Thanks for the cute pictures!

I’m just waiting to see if she’ll go with the ‘dark’ side or stay true to her first love, Dong Wook. But looking at last week’s episode, it does seem like she’s staying with her decision to deny her feelings, and go with the ‘flow’ by Myung Hun’s side. Their son, Tae Ho is so cute!! lolz.
