Following the steps of my beloved FTTS, looks like Sungie is also doing a ‘digital single release’ before the actual album comes out. “Why did you call” is the title of Shin Hye Sung’s newest track (2nd solo album), which will come out on Feb 17.

The song is apparently a HUGE hit on Korea’s biggest music site Hottracks, as well as Synnara, Interpark and Japan’s HMV chart. I personally think the song is okay, but it doesn’t really ’spark’ anything else than his regular ballad taste (especially by looking at the official MV featuring Lee Young Ah – I almost can’t recognize her with those bangs.)

Shin Hye Sung’s new single to be unveiled on Feb 12

Shin Hye Sung’s 3rd solo album, titled “KEEP LEAVES” will be released on Feb 17. However, before the album release, the title track “Why Did You Call” has been released today, Feb 12 through major online music portals such as Dosirak, Melon, Mnet, and Muze.

The album pre-sale, which started on Feb 3, has reached the #1 spot on Korea’s biggest music site Hottracks, Interpark, Synnara, and Japan’s HMV chart. This 3rd album from Hye Sung is released 6 months after his Brit Rock “Side 1″ album last Summer, August 26.

“Why did you call” the title track for “Side 2″ is a little different (and more dramatic) compared to his previous ballad tracks. But of course, Shin Hye Sung’s powerful vocal is still the trademark of his ballad songs.

On the same day, beside the release of the title track, the song’s music video featuring actress Lee Young Ah is also released at the same time. (Apparently the MV got leaked out before its due date, based on their press release.) Hye Sung and Lee Young Ah both worked on this MV which took place in Sapporo, Japan, will be made available online through Naver’s Shin Hye Sung Special Search for online viewing.

Shin Hye Sung mentioned that since this is the first time he’s releasing a title track first before the album, he’s more nervous than usual. But since the album contains ballads, which we all know he’s the ‘king’ of ballads (lol), he hopes that the album will be anticipated and liked by many of his fans.
