OMGOSH, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Gu Dong Baek!!!
Gosh, Hwang Jung Min really has a keen eye and a very wise choice when it comes to picking a great character. No wonder his movies have always been doing so well at the box office, and though the ratings aren’t as high as I want them to be, Episode 11 last night made it to the HIGHEST ratings the drama has ever gotten so far. WOOOOT!! SO happy~ (the ratings are 12.8% Nationwide, and 13.9% Seoul). I’ll try to do justice with Episode 11 summary from last night right after the cut~

Episode 11
“…why Ji Su-ssi is always in a difficult position?” Dong Baek asked.
Yes, it does sound like a simple, innocent question, but oh how so true. But I’ll get to that part later on. In Episode 11, as we knew from last week, Ji Su overheard her brother, Sang Chul and Dong Baek wrestling each other in Dong Baek’s room. She was surprised and this is what puzzles me. She just told him that she seems to begin to have feelings for him. The feelings of ‘like’. But then she seems so upset that Dong Baek and Sang Chul are going behind her back. To make this ‘fake marriage’ to be as real as possible. So what are her real feelings? Is she upset because she doesn’t want this relationship to go further? Or, is it because she felt betrayed and lied to? I’m not so sure. It’s hard to tell an honest feeling of someone like Ji Su :P
That night, when she took off from Dong Baek’s house, she met two fans outside who tried to take picture with her. She refused, took off the battery and ran away. Well, someone saw all this. None other than, Min Ji’s friend – whom I have to start learning her name (I’ve been calling her “Lee Soo Young” HAHA). Then we see Kang Mo’s car approaching by. Apparently Ji Su called her manager but Kang Mo came instead. They went to talk and Kang Mo asked her why she was at Dong Baek’s. Ji Su kinda lied about it, that it was all Sang Chul’s idea.
And the next scene is super hilarious. Gosh, Min Ji is so funny!! kekeke… she came out, calling her brother because she couldn’t find Ji Su anywhere. Panicking, she saw Sang Chul doing the weights outside, bare-chest. Gulp. Her expression was PRICELESS. Dong Baek went out to see what the commotion is all about, and later on, when Sang Chul was on the phone with Yeong Gyeong (the manager), Dong Baek caught Min Ji’s eyes…literally ‘undressing’ Sang Chul’s open chest. BAHAHA.
At home, Ji Su told her manager that Sang Chul knows all along about the contract marriage. And that he tries to turn this into a ‘real marriage’. Ji Su started to remember all the signs back then, that Sang Chul and Dong Baek were teaming up together.
Meanwhile, Dong Baek and Sang Chul walked home, and met Ji Su outside the house. She pretends everything is okay while it’s obvious that she’s still upset. Sang Chul scolded her a bit for leaving Dong Baek’s house without telling them. Ji Su just said that she was uncomfortable to be sleeping over there. So she left. That’s what she told them, so Sang Chul seems okay with her reasoning. So, Sang Chul signaled Dong Baek to ask Ji Su to go on a picnic on such a nice day like this. Surprisingly, Ji Su agreed, BUT, she asked Sang Chul to come along also. So the three of them decided to go.
Next scene, we see Kang Mo’s fiancee, Su Yeon getting in the car and she got a call. Apparently her friend knew that Kang Mo bought a necklace but he gave it to Han Ji Su. She looks alert but pretends to stay calm. She told her friend that she knew all along, and she’s fine with it. It must’ve been hard on her (the friend) because she doesn’t know anything about it. Then Kang Mo went in the car, without noticing anything. But here is a big turn because now Su Yeon seems to get very suspicious about Kang Mo and Ji Su’s relationship.
Dong Baek prepared the picnic basket, and oh, that bright yellow sweater Sang Chul put on his shoulder. It was really super bright lol (but looks good on Hwang Jung Min). With Ji Su’s favorite sandwiches and chocolates (Hawaiian nuts), but Ji Su saw all this as an act from Dong Baek. Then she kinda threw her tantrum a bit (she threw the chocolates too lol). But then she asked to go on a rowing boat. Just the two of them went, and Dong Baek did his very best to row the boat to her liking. LOL, poor Dong Baek. His palms got all blistered >_> but he told Ji Su, as long as it makes her happy, he’s fine with it. (omg) Leave it to Sang Chul to film all this and sent it to Kang Mo. Su Yeon found out about the video and confronted (silently and calmy) to Kang Mo. She asked him about the auction and the necklace he bought. “Is it right that you gave the necklace to Ji Su?” she asked. Since he’s busted, Kang Mo can’t deny anything but decided to tell the truth – that he gave it to Ji Su as an appreciation gift, because Ji Su has let their newspaper covering her wedding news.
Back to the picnic scene, on the boat, Ji Su finally confronted Dong Baek about Sang Chul. So things got a bit sour. They got off the boat and rejoined Sang Chul who knew nothing about it. Dong Baek then told him that Ji Su knew everything now. Meanwhile, Min Ji seems to be worried about why Ji Su left her house suddenly. Her friend (Lee Soo Young) told her that she saw everything, when Ji Su left the house. So it makes Min Ji more worry, and decided to buy a gift for Ji Su.
Back at home, Sang Chul asked Dong Baek why he looks so gloomy and sad. So he made her own conclusion that Dong baek must be falling for Ji Su already. “Ahjussi, you love her, don’t you?” but Dong Baek tried to deny it. It was cute to see more bromance between them ;) Luckily Sang Chul is on their side, so I was hoping they’ll let Min Ji and her friend know the truth soon, so Min Ji can be on Sang Chul side… to help get this romance going, ya know. keke.
After talking to Dong Baek, Sang Chul our cupid went to Ji Su’s room. They talked heart to heart, and at the end, he told her why he didn’t go back to the States. It’s because of her and Dong Baek. He wants them to be happy together. It’d be good if Dong Baek can make her stop crying. “Ahjussi and me, we want you to be happy.” Then it got interrupted because Min Ji came to the house.
It was hilarious to see how Min Ji seems to worry that Ji Su left the house because of something she did. LOL. Then Sang Chul sent a text so Min Ji, suggesting them to go to a club together. Keke… omg the dancing part was SO hilarious. Hwang Jung Min nodding his head to the rhythm, trying to act ‘cool’ like what Sang Chul told him to. BAHAHAHA… so funny. You gotta see this scene yourself, and the next one, with the waiters. LOL. The waiter has the same name, Gu Dong Baek. LOL.
And comes next is the sweet dance to “Over the rainbow” :) This is too sweet to be described, so I’ll let you watch the scene :)
Next day, Dong Baek’s colleagues at work are preparing for an event. The boss even prepared a pink shirt for all of them to wear, in which Ji Su said she wants one too. This pink shirt is too pretty~ lol. And they got interrupted of a phone call from Kang Mo, who has been asked by his fiancee to invite Ji Su to the gallery opening tomorrow. So… he invited her to come >_> sheesh.
The next morning, the four of them including Kang Mo’s dad met at the gallery. Su Yeon stared at Ji Su’s necklace as if she wants to pierce a nail in it. But Ji Su pretended to be all calm and cool about it, while Dong Baek is being nervous but still so sweet.
Andddd…I just died and went to heaven when I saw Dong Baek held Ji Su’s hand in front of Kang Mo. Teehee. SCORE! Su Yeon had asked them to go eat together, but Dong Baek knew that it’s a very bad idea. What an awkward scene, but sweet too. Dong Baek decided for her that they can’t go. He was somewhere to go to. Su Yeon said, if he can’t then Ji Su… but Dong Baek cut her off and told her that she has to go with him. Then Dong Baek grabbed Ji Su’s hand~~
The elevator scene…
Su Yeon thanked her for coming and for the future, to support their marriage (I don’t remember what else she said, but it was awkward.) So Kang Mo secretly reached for Ji Su’s hand (like he did to Ji Su before in Episode 1). Dong Baek saw his hand, and… he grabbed Ji Su’s hand ;) omo, omo~ keke… when the elevator door opens, he grabbed her out of the elevator and down the stairs. They bickered and Dong Baek kept saying he doesn’t get it. Why are they here? In such an uncomfortable arrangement. Why does she want to keep doing this? Being hurt, being in an awkward situation… his tone gets higher and higher and finally, Ji Su slapped him. Ouch. Then just before he left, he said it loud and clear, that Ji Su is someone who deserves to be happy.
Back in the gallery, Kang Mo stared blankly at the picture on the frame. Su Yeon approached him and thanked him for being there with her. He reached into his pocket and pulled a little white jewelry box. “Is this what you’ve been waiting for?” he asked. (geez). Then he put the ring on her finger. Su Yeon seems relief and happy. And she told him though she has been worried that there’s something going on between him and Ji Su, it’s not true, right? she asked. Kang Mo told her not to worry, there’s nothing to worry. (oh sheeesh)
Next scene, Dong Baek rejoined his colleagues to the music practice. But he can’t stop thinking about their little quarrel while Ji Su and her (driver? bodyguard?) walked home (?). Ji Su recalled all Dong Baek’s words and called Kang Mo. She told him everything, how she feels, how awkward, how weird to be in that situation. To be asked by his fiancee, to meet his father like that. She can’t do it anymore. And in the elevator, when he tried to hold her hand, “sorry, but can’t you not do that anymore from now on…” she said it frankly and I love it! Such a powerful scene, and Kang Mo couldn’t even say a word. She hung up the phone, and headed to Dong Baek’s office.
When she saw all those Dong Baek’s displays, she hid in one of them as Dong Baek walked in the lobby. Ji Su said she has something to apologize to him. :) so then they talked and talked, and Ji Su is relieved to see a smile on Dong Baek. “Hit me once…” she asked, as she remembered how hard she slapped him before. Keke.. XD
But…meanwhile, someone overheard everything…. Gyeong Ae.
“This marriage is all a fake right? I knew it! I knew this is a lie.”
Then, the episode ends without no preview for tomorrow.
Aigoooo~ :)~
