He is K.Will, the recording artist behind the curtain now already has 2 solo albums with his latest one called, “Miss, miss and miss” released last month. His hit song, Left Heart 왼쪽가슴 was released 3 years after his debut. His collaboration with MC Mong, “Love 119″ was a hit, and so does his mini album, “Dropping the tears” settled his position as a solo artist. He can cover pretty much ANY song in the music industry from ballads, to rap songs.

K.Will, “I feel that my debut album didn’t receive that much love, but I just thought I’d have had a future in this field. Then someone told me that I gotta ‘fall from the cliff to know that you have wings’, and I did find out exactly what he meant by that. When “Love 119″ received so much love and supports, I had checked out my wings and apparently leaped through my own circle of comfort.” Now K.will talks about his music, his album, his future and what he sees as the meaning of some numbers in his life.

#1 = One time in life

Music is like a toy. It’s like my own hands, which cannot be separated. It is so good, and it makes me proud of being a person. And I’m happy with my life. The music itself makes me happy. The reason I live.

# 2 = the regular 2nd album

After “Love 119″ was out, it was near some time of my 2nd album. Two tracks gained popularity in more ways that I can imagine/expected. “Love 119″ and “Dropping the tears” were it. I had a longer preparation time before putting out an album. In a scale of 1-100 points, those two are maybe my 90 points? We estimated about 11 through 18 tracks, but then it got sidetracked. (laughs) My vocals were prepared differently for different songs. Some of them are straightforward, some is done with Outsider. Through these songs, my love for music grew and the album shows how I’ve matured through music. Thus, I was hoping to present a more matured 2nd album.

# 5 = 5 songs that changed my life

K.Will pointed out the 5 songs that made a big difference in his life. First, it was his debut song, 왼쪽가슴 (Left Heart), then “Love 119″, the ballad track “Tears dots”, the SBS drama OST track and finally the title track from his newest album, “Miss, miss and miss”.

# 7 = 7 years period as a trainee

Being a trainee for 7 years before debuting. I was doing training after 4-5 years without even a business card to hold by. (laughs). It felt like I was married 7 years to songs and chorus, lyrics and music. That’s how trainees survive. We were just so happy to be able to sing. One time, I was practicing my vocal singing under the bridge, by myself. Sometimes I slept outside, singing about 8 songs while standing in the middle of a two-lane road outside my house. If I didn’t experience that at the time, I won’t be able to go back there again.

# 10 = 10 years

You’d have to know your song. Since I debuted late in age, I thought of it as I’m just staring over as a rookie. Back then, there were no internet, no special ringtone you can download from the internet. Now, I’m almost having my own solo concert after 10 years, and I did my performances through music shows, just where I want to be. No, I’ll make sure I’ll do that.

# 2008 = a turning point year

Last year was the most meaningful time of my life. When “Love 119″ went public, and my name was brought up, it’s like a dream come true. In fact, I was afraid I’d dream of the greedy stuff and became frustrated. I wanted to give up hope, but when people clap their hands for me, I thought of it as I have gained my wings or something.

# 3741 = the number of my fan club members

The numbers aren’t like a tremendously large group of fans. But they’ve come to give me the strength to keep on singing. Fans often go to a cafe and see other fans cheering for their idol. It forces me to do better through my songs.
