Wow, yet another actor had to lose his weight for a drama. I wonder how they do it so fast, but maybe it’s easier for actors to lose weight :P
Ki Tae Young, “controlled by strict diet, I lost 10 kgs, not plastic surgery”
In order to prepare for his weekend drama, MBC “Creating Destiny” actor Ki Tae Young had to create this special character as a self-centered, rational doctor Kim Yeo Jun – playing the opposite of Eugene. Their fate is destined together, but they hated each other before when their families intended them to be matched together.
Different than his last drama, “Mom dead upset” (Angry Mom), where the atmosphere was rather tough, with heavy/despressing character, Ki Tae Young’s “Creating Destiny” leans more towards a light-hearted, romantic comedy, bright and pleasant. So they expected him to transform from his old image to this bright and fresh young doctor with bright potentials.
According to Ki Tae Young, at first his permed hair bothered him. “I still feel awkward at times, but now I get used to this perm. People told me that it suits my character,” he said with satisfaction.
When he first lost weight that much, there were some doubts that he did a plastic surgery before the drama aired. “With strict diet, I lost about 10kgs of my original weird. It was because someone commented that I looked big on screen, so dieting seems suitable at that time. When I was filming “Mom dead upset”, I was already on a steady diet, and losing about 11kgs by controlling my diet and not eating junk foods. But for this drama, it seems that it won’t shed more than 10 kgs. I didn’t exercise at all, but now I wear the smallest in men’s clothing size.”
He also shared that at first they had doubts for the drama, and how people can accept him after his old image shed off. ‘Of course, the doubts were forming, and everything is awkward at first, but now I think of myself as having a brighter personality, and it gives me such a good feeling about it.”

wow…he looks great after losing 10 kg. Though I don’t know him with those extra 10 kgs. And he has been acting for 10 years already? How come I just know him recently? *checking drama wiki*

I wish he didn’t lose that much as he is quite tall so now he is kinda underweight.
