He’s the president of MBC, the TV station main president. The person in charge of all the ruckus in MBC hehe! :) He seems younger than I thought he would be. And it must have been a proud moment for the whole crew to have a visit like this ;)

I have been trying to catch up on this series, and it seems that starting episode 8, things are slowly going to the wrong direction -_- PD-nim, let’s pick up the pace, yes?

MBC President, Eom Ki Young found staffs of Seonduk on set

On July 1, the staffs and crew of the high-profile MBC historical drama, “Queen Seonduk” got a visit from President Eom Ki Young. He came to visit the crew on set to give them his supports for their dedication. The crew and actors were so happy to see him and felt encouraged by his presence.

While visiting on set, held in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province (“Queen Seonduk” shooting location), the president and his executive stayed until they finished shooting. Then he personally greeted Go Hyun Jung and her fellow co-star, Jeon No Min (who played as “Seolwon” in the drama) to deliver his personal encouragement and support for their hard work.

As soon as Go Hyun Jung met the president, she had a huge smile on her face and said, “It’s such an honor to have him come down to our shooting location. His direct encouragement for the whole crew is very much appreciated.” As for the president himself, he told Go Hyun Jung what an excellent job she did. “There’s no exaggeration at all, and she came on with a strong character.” Giving her the encouragement and praising her acting.

Due to the hot weather this summer, the crew and staff have to work extra hard to overcome hard shooting days. Therefore PD Kim Geun Hong mentioned how hard his staff have been working to make every episode possible. He thanked the President also for the encouragement and promised to work harder.

(Let’s just hope that the script will move on soon… I’m getting a different vibe from episode 10 compared to when the drama first started. I guess the transition period is harder to watch because we can’t help feeling hopeless when the main character is feeling listless. Lee Yo Won did a great job as “Deokman”, and also Go Hyun Jung for her Mishil-evilness. Hail for Mishil! >_> keke!)

Koh Hyun-jung Talks About Changes On Screen and Off

MBC drama “The Great Queen Seondeok,” whose star-studded cast generated much advance hype, is getting receiving rave reviews for the successful transformation of Koh Hyun-jung into a charismatic baddie.

On the way from Mt. Jiri to Gyeongju for the shoot, Koh spoke to the Chosun Ilbo. Her beauty-queen looks seem time-resistant, and the series in which she appeared always enjoyed high viewer’s rating. But then she was the star, and when the news broke out that she had been cast in “The Great Queen Seondeok,” everyone thought she would be the star again. Instead, she plays the part of Misil, a royal concubine who is the antagonist of Queen Seondeok.

“I think I got used to playing parts who fight for justice, very attractive characters who would sacrifice small things for the greater cause. Misil, on the other hand, focuses on getting what she wants. She is a very direct and frank character,” Koh says. The change of role perhaps reflects the changes that took place within the actress herself. Once notorious for declining to appear on entertainment programs other than dramas or films, she maintained a mysterious image for a long time. But recently, Koh began to appear on variety and talk shows and talked very frankly about herself. Her new easy-going, and down-to-earth attitude reflects a philosophical view of the many ups and downs in life. In previous interviews with other magazines, Koh frankly expressed her feelings towards her ex-husband and children.

She also talked about her thoughts on acting. Her 10 years of absence from the scene, which coincided with her marriage to the heir to a giant conglomerate, was precious time in giving her the opportunity to see herself objectively, but lost time from an actress’ perspective. “In the end, it all comes down to time,” she says. “How you manage time correlates with success. I try to focus on and put my energy into the most important things because I don’t have much time. My hope is to use myself most effectively at the right time in the right place.”

Wow, the day is finally here. “Queen Seonduk” finally aired its first pilot episode last night, and it seems to be quite a decent start off for this new, highly anticipated historical drama from MBC. My first impression was, “Not bad…” and “Oh~ Go Hyun Jung is sooo… wicked!” kekeke…

And short announcement, yes, WITH S2 is subbing this drama, thanks to our dearest MisterX. (I just hope the storyline won’t go down the hill, because it looks like we’re on for a loooong journey. 50 episodes, for starters.)

“Queen Seonduk” had a blast on its first episode

Is it women’s history that hit it off to a new horizon? But certainly, “Queen Seonduk” did very well for their first ratings.

The first episode aired last night, showing the other heroine, played gy Gu Hyun Jung, who then received such overwhelming praises over the message boards for her performance. It’s not bad for someone who hardly acted in a historical drama before.

High ratings based on TNS Media Korea, for “Queen Seonduk” is 16%, which is higher than writer Kim Young Hyeon’s previous drama, “Dae Jang Geum” first episode (15.2%). “Queen Seonduk” got slightly 0.3% lower than “Jumong” first ratings (16.3%), which resulted in such high ratings expectations from the production team, including MBC.

The first success “Queen Seonduk” is the new opening for a whole new dimension of women’s history in historical drama writings. SBS “Jewel in the palace” (Dae Jang Geum” recorded the highest ratings in the drama focused on women’s history. MBC is definitely joining the pool with “Queen Seonduk”, along with the other two dramas already in the game, SBS “Jamyeonggo” and also KBS2 TV “Cheonchu taehoo/Iron Empress”.

Errr… I say it’s all about girl’s power!! ^_^ LOL~ jk~

Lee Yo Won vs. Go Hyun Jung “Queen Seonduk” teaser posters officially released!

This special historical drama presentation got hyped up a notch when SBS decided to release its 3rd main teaser poster. Queen Seonduk (Lee Yo Won) and her rival, Go Hyun Jung, along with her evil twin sister, Park Hye Jin and also Uhm Tae Woong. The four of them have been officially introduced though the main poster to promote this summer’s highly anticipated sageuk.

When the poster first revealed, the staff on the production team practically had their jaw dropped. It was such a powerful moment as these posters manage to capture the heart and soul of the drama.

Queen Seonduk is expected to grace your TV screen starting next-next Monday (in 2 weeks), May 25.

Go Hyun Jung and Jo In Sung are caught dating late at night!

On Feb 27, they are caught ‘dating’ at a cafe in Seoul, drinking some tea. The people who saw them, said that it was a quiet place, and somewhat pretty close to samcheongdong. Because both of them are public figures, them being together late at night, raised a big eye-brow question for the fans.

The time was around 9pm (what late at night? 9? lol), Go Hyun Jung and Jo In Sung came in. Seems like they just went out to dinner, and dropped by for some night tea. They were both dressed in comfortable clothes, chatting, and each had a bright face and seemed to be without conscious of people seeing them together.

One eye-witness said, “Because they both are tall, it wasn’t hard to spot them together on a Friday night at a cafe… easily mistaken them as lovers.”

Jo In Sung’s enlistment is coming up in April, and because of this, the situation becomes a big curiousity for his fans. Gu Hyun Jung herself is his senior, which people find it hard to believe. (What’s new today? After Choi Ji Woo – Lee Jin Wook, I think this noona-dongsaeng relationship is a trend! lol)

Both Gu Hyun Jung and Jo In Sung worked together in the SBS Drama, Spring Days, where they began to share their friendship. At one time, Jo In Sung said to Sports Korea, “Gu Hyun Jung sunbae-nim is a great role model. I had received great encouragement about my character.”

Then on MBC “무릎팍도사” show, Gu Hyun Jung said that actresses shouldn’t worry too much, she went out with Jo In Sung as friends.
