With the show ending last night (sobs), I guess it’s inevitable to ignore the “Will there be a season 2?” question. The drama PD Lee Hyeon Jik answers, “Season 2? I want it too!” :) Assa! BUT, as long as they have to keep ALL the cast together :P

“OB/GYN Doctors” PD Lee Hyeon Jik, “Season 2? I want it too!”

SBS medical drama, “Obstetrics & Gynecology Doctors” director, PD Lee Hyeon Jik gave some hopes for the fans to create a sequel.

This is the first medical drama that tells a story behind the OB/GYN department in which received such positive responses from the viewers. According to the message boards comments and posts, the drama viewers expressed their sentiments towards each mother-baby stories in the drama and how each stories have touched them in such an emotional way.

Yesterday, just a few hours before the drama aired its final episode, PD Lee Hyeon Jik was interviewed and he mentioned a couple of things from his point of view. “When I was preparing for this drama, I received so many heart-wrenching stories focusing on the women and their families that could make your heart breaks,” he said, “After the drama started airing, we received many supports from the hospital, and I felt a sense of responsibility while shooting the drama. We also got a few requests from the viewers to extend the drama or to have a sequel.”

PD Lee expressed, since this is the first Korean drama focusing on the relationship between mother and the baby in particular, unlike the typical K-drama, there’s a lot of emotion crammed into each episode/storyline. “We had a lot of confident in making this drama since it’s the first Korean medical drama that zoom into OB/GYN”

PD Lee also praised the actors and actresses who made the drama unforgettable.

“Jang Seo Hee has shown such great acting in her portrayal as an OB/GYN doctor, I really thank her for everything. For Go Ju Won and Wang Jae Suk, they really nailed down the role of men in their 30s. I think we’ve picked the right actors. Also for Lee Young Eun, Song Joong Ki and Ahn Seon Young, I also am grateful for all of them for making this drama possible. Song Joong Ki is definitely a ’smoke’ (uprising) idol…” said PD Lee.

About the ratings, though it wasn’t as high as they hoped to be, but they are grateful to receive such positive feedback and supports from the fans. “This drama shows just how honorable it is to become a mother. To give birth to your baby is rewarding, and you can sense it through each of the stories in the drama. If I was given another chance, I also would like to create a Season 2,” he concluded.

“OB/GYN Doctors” ended its broadcasting period last night, March 25 which will be followed by a new drama,
Prosecutor Princess” by Kim So Yeon, Park Shi Hoo and Han Jung Soo.

As for the ending?
I’m so friggin glad everyone’s happy (well, except maybe Dr. Wang. I’m still wishing for him to be with the head nurse-whom I still don’t know her name. >_> what is her name?). And without killing anyone’s dreams: Dr. Lee still goes to the U.S. to fulfill his long-time wish; and Dr. Seo will still be the Chief in Hankuk Hospital. They’re still together but separate for the time being – though we don’t get to witness this. And the grand ending with them walking down the aisle towards the mass of people cheering for them = PRICELESS and oh-so-well-acted! ^^ and we got a glimpse of how it’ll be when it’s time for them to get married ;)
LOVE IT! I’m SO going to miss this drama so badly :(

Then the news goes on…

The highly-anticipated kissing scene is filmed on the 17th. Dr. Seo Hye Young (Jang Seo Hee) and Dr. Lee Sang Shik (Go Joo Won) were about to go home, and they met up right before getting on the elevator. As they both were cramped in an elevator full of people, Dr. Lee tried to ’shield’ her from people squeezing her into the corner, and at that moment they both will share a sweet kiss. This scene can be scene in tonight’s episode.

According to Jang Seo Hee, that scene is conducted as a peak of their relationship; making it possible for the two people who obviously are attracted to each other, to finally reveal their feelings. “At first I felt awkward, but Go Joo Won made the atmosphere feel at ease and we both were able to finish the shooting,” the actress said.

Now, having to post this AFTER I watched the episode, I gotta say it was such a sweet scene and one heck of a CLIFFHANGER! OMONA, poor Dr. Wang! :( WHY, OH WHY does he have to see all that??? It is too cruel! >_> sigh. But maybe then on, after seeing that, he’ll move on and wouldn’t have any hopes with Hye Young. But I keep on thinking, would he ever be able to fall in love again after being heartbroken? Well… but if he’s a true playa, he’ll move on quickly. Sigh. Poor Dr. Wang.

But YAY Dr. Lee!! Way to go, dude. LOL. I guess the conversation with his hyung did him some thinkin’. Now the only problem is… will he move to the States and take on the job? I’d bet for NO, he will stay in Korea and be the best pediatrician ever! :P
Would love to see them get married or something, or raise a baby… or having a date. Something must happen next week! :P ahhh, a week is too long to get by~

SBS releases “OB/GYN Doctors” Jang Seo Hee-Seo Ji Seok-Song Joong Ki-Ahn Seon Young BTS goofing around pictures

Yesterday, just a few hours before episode 14 aired in Korea, SBS released these special eye-catching pictures of the cast. Too bad Go Joo Won wasn’t included in the picture :( where was he??

According to the cast, behind the camera they also had so much fun working together. Though with tight schedule, whenever there’s time to interact with each other, they goof around and joke around. Thus these pictures showed up.

Seo Ji Seok, who plays as Jang Seo Hee’s best friend since elementary school, seems to live up to his character even after the camera stops rolling. The way he jokes around comfortably with Jang Seo Hee shows just how close they are in real life. Not only when Jang Seo Hee, but with Song Joong Ki and Ahn Seon Young, the three of them improvised such an eye-catching pose that invited curious comments from the drama viewers through the official website message board.

According to Jang Seo Hee, the atmosphere around the shooting location is always so fresh and fun. And whenever Ahn Seon Young and Seo Ji Seok get together, they like to crack jokes and she (Ahn Seon Young) even made a special nickname for him (왕재순이 – “Wang Jae-sooni” lol!)

According to the drama PD, they can’t thanked the actors enough for making such a pleasant atmosphere around the shooting location. They hope that with the remaining 2 episodes, people will look forward to it until the end.

Found this news way late last night from my ‘news-source’ (lol, jk) and I was totally squealing at how adorkable they both looked! SO.darn.CUTE. Dr. Lee ♥ Dr. Seo, forevah!!

‘OB/GYN Doctors’ Go Joo Won & Jang Seo Hee, Caught wearing couple shoes! Are they a couple already?

According to the news posted last night, a couple hours before Episode 13 aired, Sang Shik (played by Go Joo Won) returned from his trip to the States and quickly looked to find Hye Young (played by Jang Seo Hee). But because there was all kinds of commotions at Hankuk Hospital, she was way too busy to even notice he went off for a short trip.

Later on, when he got the chance to meet her, Dr. Lee bought her a gift. A pair of golden-colored sneakers, matching with what he has bought for himself also. They both were caught wearing it while filming the episode at the airport, in which a lot of fans saw them together. Go Joo Won and Jang Seo Hee kindly posed for a picture and that’s what we can see above ^_^

At that time, the staff gave comments, “They look so cute together!”, “Looks like the shoes really matched them well!”, and gave the fans some clues that perhaps these two doctors are already a couple.

Now, what about Dr. Wang? Well, apparently, after he saw them wearing the matching sneakers, he got jealous. He doesn’t seem to be ready to get heartbroken, and ’tis makes me sad :( May I root him to be with the Head Nurse? She’s cute and they bicker a lot sometimes. She seems like a player herself, so they’d totally be matched made in heaven! ^^ hee…

Like I mentioned in my previous post, “OB/GYN Doctors” is the one drama to watch if you’re looking for a medical drama, minus the angst, and filled with sweet, funny, memorable stories collected from real experiences by real people.

‘Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors’ receives 1400 entries

SBS medical drama series, “OB/GYN Doctors” (written by Choi Hee Ra, directed by Lee Hyeon Jik and Choi Young Hun), always shows photo captions after the ending of each episodes which collected through stories submitted by viewers through its official website. One of the popular factors that made the drama so touching is because of these real-life stories.

The drama staff and crew held a special section where they collected the mother and baby photos, along with their miracle stories to share with the rest of the message board viewers. According to SBS, in within a month, they have received about 1400 entries under the “mother & baby photo competition” now that the ending of the drama is near.

The webmaster for “OB/GYN Doctors” website also mentioned that many people visited the website to read about others’ stories and to share their own experience. It has become quite a phenomenon as they warm up to each other while the drama is still airing. Viewers comment that many of them cried during the Down Syndrome baby episode, and also the little one with the skin disease. And as the drama is drawing to its end, the possible love lines have been drawn this week. A medical drama with a twist of friendship and romance between the main doctors and their subordinates, played by awesome actors is surely entertaining to watch.

As of now, the production crew and cast are selecting 100 special winners of those who have submitted their entry under the “mother & baby photo competition” to receive special gifts.
