“We” are singing for charity

Jang Dong-gun said a song he recorded with five other actors, titled “WE,” would soon be released as a CD single. Under the name Actors Choice, Jang, Kim Seung-woo, Hwang Jeong-min, Kong Hyeong-jin, Ji Jin-hee, and Lee Ha-na originally recorded the song, written by popular composer Joo Young-hoon, for an online game. They will donate the profits to charity.

The music video will be available for viewing tomorrow on various music sites and on the official Web page for the project.

Lee Hana is known for her vocal and she can play guitar too. Hwang Jung Min is a musical actor, so no doubt about his voice. No wonder he’s singing first :p Kim Seung Woo can’t seem to sing – he yells at practice lol. Ji Jin Hee seems a bit shy. And oh, don’t even get me started on how HOT Jang Dong Gun looked! O my~! yummylicious indeed in specs~ *fangirling~*

Han Hyo Joo and Lee Seung Gi are scheduled to visit Japan to promote last year’s popular weekend drama, “Brilliant Legacy”. The drama is apparently doing so well in Japan too~

Han Hyo Joo visits Japan for “Brilliant Legacy”

Actress Han Hyo Joo will be visiting Japan this week to promote her drama, “Brilliant Legacy”, which has begun airing in Japan last Tuesday. According to her agency, BH Entertainment, the actress who played the lead female character Go Eun Sun in the series, is scheduled to arrive in Japan tomorrow (Friday) with co-star Lee Seung Gi. They’re scheduled to show at the press conference to hold interviews with about 80 journalists, and will be participating in a special event with selected fans.

“Brilliant Legacy” debuted in Japan with a viewership rating of 5.3 percent, which is a high figure for a program showing in the afternoon. The drama is scheduled to be aired daily and is set to finish its run in mid-April.

Han Hyo Joo is currently working on her next project, a historical drama “Dong Yi” where she played as the female character opposite of Ji Jin Hee. “Dong Yi” will be produced by director Lee Byeong Hun, who produced Asian mega hit drama, “Dae Jang Geum” (“Jewel in the Palace”).

With scheduled airing date for next month, MBC is ready to promote their new historical drama, Dong Yi.

Han Hyo Joo & Ji Jin Hee show off their “Dong Yi” hanbok pictures

MBC “Dong Yi” is marked as the sageuk version of CSI, recently published their first pictures of the main cast, Ji Jin Hee, Han Hyo Joo, Bae Soo Bin and Lee So Yeon.

The four of them gathered for the photoshoot, each wearing pretty hanboks/traditional Korean costumes. If last year, MBC produced “East of Eden” for their 48th anniversary drama, this year they came up with “Dong Yi” as the 49th year anniversary drama.

Han Hyo Joo revealed that it was her first time wearing hanbok for a drama promotion. She has been working diligently to live up to her character, Sook Bin, who is a water maid who becomes the king’s concubine. She’ll have a triangle love story with Ji Jin Hee, as the King Sook Jong and also Bae Soo Bin who is playing as the angelic, protective figure to Dong Yi – similar to his character, Park Jun Sae in “Brilliant Legacy” – also opposite of Han Hyo Joo. (I’m getting very tired of this kind of character! hmph~)

Lee So Yeon, who was just finished with her drama “Angel’s Temptation” will be playing yet another mean, antagonist character, Lady Jang who is responsible of all the chaos in the palace with King Sook Jong’s 2nd queen (played by Park Ha Sun), Queen In Hyun. You may have seen Park Ha Sun in a historical drama before as she starred in SBS “King & I”, but I remember her vaguely as the fiancee from “The Accidental Couple” (remember her?). And as for Ji Jin Hee, this is his comeback sageuk drama after “Dae Jang Geum” (he looks great in sageuk.) Other actor I’m excited about is Jung Jin Young – it’s always a treat to see him on screen.

MBC will broadcast “Dong Yi” after “Pasta” ends on March 8, every Mondays & Tuesdays.

It hasn’t been a while since his last drama, which is the Korean adaptation of the famous Japanese drama (I haven’t seen it though. Totally skipped it since I love Abe Hiroshi >_>) Ji Jin Hee has picked his next project…

Ji Jin Hee returns as King Sukjong in “Dong Yi”

The actor has just being appointed as an honorary goodwill ambassador to promote Korea’s ancient palaces at the headquarters of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Seoul, South Korea on November 19. Earlier in the day, his management announced his next project, in the historical drama, “Dong Yi”.

He has been cast to co-star opposite actress Han Hyo Joo in a new TV series directed by Lee Byung Hoon, the producer of hit TV dramas “Jewel in the palace” (Daejanggeum), and “Yisan”.

Ji Jin Hee’s agency N.O.A. Entertainment said on Wednesday that the actor will play the role of King Sukjong from the Chosun Dynasty in the historical epic, Dong Yi.

Sukjong, who rose to his position as king at the age of 14, displayed charisma and leadership in governing his people while wholeheartedly loving Dong Yi (played by Han Hyo Joo). Dong Yi grows up to become Choi Suk Bin, a consort of Sukjong and the mother of King Youngjo.

“Dong Yi” is Ji Jin Hee’s second time working with Director Lee Byung Hoon – as he became very popular throughout Asia after starring opposite of famous actress Lee Young Ae in “Daejanggeum.” However, this will be his first time opposite of Han Hyo Joo, who is currently one of the most wanted actresses in the entertainment industry after her role in “Brilliant Legacy” broadcast earlier this year, which ended its run with a 41.7 percent rating.

Actor Ji Jin Hee (38) has appeared in dozens of movies and dramas since his debut in 1999. His new film “Paradise” also is set for release later on this month.
