Upcoming SBS drama, “Giant” has released its picture of their four leads.

The cast and crew had met up 2 days ago for their first script-reading meeting where they held the rehearsal. On that day, the attendees are the four leading actors: Lee Bum Soo, Park Jin Hee, Hwang Jung Eum and Ju Sang Wook, as well as Lee Deok Hwa, Jeong Bo Seok, Lee Ki Young, Kim Soo Hyun and child actor Nam Ji Hyeon. Director Yoo In Shik and writer Jang Young Cheol were there to complete the first full script meeting.

After the rehearsal, PD Yoo said that he’s very satisfied with the scenario exercises. They all had lunch together for the first time as the “Giant” crew and cast.

“Giant” sets in the 1970, through a 20-year span (East of Eden, anyone?), and its first broadcast is scheduled on May 10, after Jejungwon.

Here’s another actor that I couldn’t picture in a historical get-up. And it was pretty quick for him to announce his next project when he just finished with the awesome romcom drama, “Accidental Couple/That Fool”. But I guess good for Ju Sang Wook to have landed such a role in MBC historical drama (still airing) “Queen Seonduk”. This will be his first time participating in sageuk (historical) drama.

Ju Sang Wook participates in “Queen Seonduk” as Gaya’s last prince

Actor Ju Sang Wook has announced his participation in the MBC historical drama, “Queen Seonduk.” His character will show up around August 24, when the time has come to an end for Gaya’s royal family. Ju Sang Wook will appear as the last prince of Gaya.

According to Ju Sang Wook’s agency on August 10, Ju Sang Wook will start shooting this coming week. And as this will be his first participation in sageuk, he has undergone some training and practice of martial arts and horseback riding to prepare for his role.

Ju Sang Wook, or well known as the scumbag Kim Kang Mo from “That Fool” was recently on the MBC variety show, ‘오늘밤만 재워줘’ hosted by Kim Won Hee (“Come To Play” co-host with Yoo Jae Suk), Kim Hyo Jin and Kang Su Jeong – the 3 MC ladies. Although I’m not fond of his character in “That Fool” as Kang Mo, there’s something about him that seems to be pretty… interesting~ but of course, if fans can hate his character so much, doesn’t it mean that he has done a great job as the scumbag Kang Mo? ^^ Now let’s find out why he shed tears on a national variety show and how these three ladies ‘grilled’ him with “personal” questions~

Ju Sang Wook shed tears, filming had to be paused for 10 minutes

It was reported recently straight from behind the scene of MBC variety show, ‘오늘밤만 재워줘’ that the recording had to be put on hold for about 10 minutes because Ju Sang Wook couldn’t control his emotion. He had confessed publicly about his family history, “My father died when I was 7 years old, so my mother raised both my sister and I by herself. So I’d really like to express my gratitude for my mother for raising us alone.” At the end of his sentence, he was in tears uncontrollably. The three MCs welled up as they listened to his story.

According to the staff on location, Ju Sang Wook talked about his family difficulties growing up, but I think the audience would remember him for being open and honest about it. “We had to stop the shooting for a moment for about 10 minutes before we resumed the filming again.”

Apparently his mother did so well raising the two children as they both were able to study and graduated from a prestige university such as Seoul University. He also shared his old picture from his high school yearbook, and all the three MC agreed that he still has that fine appearance and looked exactly the same as before.

MC Kim Won Hee and Kim Hyo Jin also asked him if he has ever been betrayed by a girl. And to their surprise, Ju Sang Wook has dated about 6 girls before his debut and one of girls that betrayed him was a professional basketball player. All the three ladies were amazed, “He’s indeed Ju Sang Wook,” (laughs).

MC Kim Won Hee then asked him, “How do you feel if you see her on TV during basketball game/season?” He answered calmly, “To tell you the truth, I still have that bitterness towards her.” Then he added, “But I believe this is my punishment for being such a player before,” he said jokingly while trying to put on a smile.

MC Kim Won Hee asked if there’s an alumni from his school who’s also become an artist. Yu Sang Wook said that actor Ha Jung Woo were in the same high school, but since they haven’t met since high school graduation, things have been pretty awkward between them. So the MCs invited him to say something for Ha Jung Woo and they taped his video letter. As he began to say, “Jung Woo-ssi…” the ladies agreed, “It was really awkward indeed,” as all of them tried to hold their laughters but failed miserably. (lol). But Ju Sang Wook managed to say, “Jung Woo-ya, let’s go get together for soju sometimes.” and wrapped up the video letter.

Wow, Ju Sang Wook is really good as Kim Kang Mo. Hehehe... :) that's too bad. Maybe I should watch Chunja Happy Events to see him as the "good guy" who GETS the girl to make it even. But yeah, Ji Su belongs to Dong Baek in this drama, thankyouverymuch. :D

For a preview that is MUCH shorter than the one leaked last night, I must say, hotdayum... I can't wait! lol... this 48 secs of teaser is totally better than the 11 mins of angst we saw on the leaked one ^_^ woooohoooo~~ Did you guys see how she runs over (passing Kang Mo), and right into Dong Baek's arms? ^_______^ love~~

And oh, I love it when Sang hul plays the meanie, over-protective brother to Kang Mo :P serves him right~ sigh.. though this is hard for me since I like Ju Sang Wook, the actor >_> oh, well. Though he’s rather cute with Kim Ah Joong… maybe in another drama ;p

Another thing, be ready for Gyeong Ae. She’s going to be a pain in the arse, fo’sho. Hmph~ can someone please knock some sense into her? She’s totally delirious… asking Ji Su to get a divorce. O_O Eeekz. Did she say it in front of Min Ji??? O_O I dunno, the preview went so fast. I gotta rewatch and pause, rewatch and pause.

But whatever. Episode 15 looks like there’ll be some equal parts of happy, sweet scene and the angst part also. But, the part where Dong Baek kneels in front of Ji Su with a ring… I’ll be prepared for that one :-) coz from the looks of it, and the text preview already spoiled us, Ji Su said she needs some time to think, AND they see no ring the next morning :-(

Ju Sang Wook, or some of us know him better as Kim Kang Mo, the man who can’t seem to take responsibility to stand up for his girlfriend, Han Ji Su. He’s actually not a new comer, but I hope after “That Fool”, he’ll be known more as a better actor. For me personally, I think Ju Sang Wook is perfectly picked for the role. Though at times, his character frustrates me :P

Ju Sang Wook, “Double-digit ratings mean double the responsibility”

Actor Ju Sang Wook from KBS2 romantic comedy drama, “That Fool” has given some of his thoughts about the double ratings they’ve been getting so far. For the last 3 episodes, “That Fool” ratings have increased up to 13.1% according to TNS Media Korea.

On June 4, Ju Sang Wook expressed, “Since the ratings have reached the double-digits, it seems like there are a lot more interests from the viewers now. But it makes it more important for me to keep the interest up until the end.”

“Viewers don’t like my character in the drama. And to have experience this kind of role, it is my first time. With a good crew, good actors, I was lucky that I’m able to be in this production. I will do my best until the end. Please keep on watching it,” he said.
