Kim Ha-neul cast as female lead for upcoming thriller

Korean actress Kim Ha-neul has been cast as the female lead for a new upcoming thriller film.

A press release from movie promoter’s NEW on Tuesday announced that Kim will be playing the female lead role opposite Korean actor Yoo Seung-ho in a crime pic titled “Blind.”

“When I received the scenario it was a role that I felt would test my level as an actress. I want to put all my energy into the movie and meet the expectations of the staff and fans,” Kim was quoted as saying.

“Blind,” helmed by Ahn Sang-hoon, is about a visually impaired woman (Kim) who witnesses a horrendous crime while Yoo will play the male lead who acts as the ‘eyes’ for Kim’s character.

The movie had won the awards as the best and most popular project at the “2009 Hit By Pitch” hosted by the Producers Guild of Korea which aims at enhancing producers’ expertise and revitalizing film productions.

“Blind” is scheduled to open in local theaters in summer of 2011.

According to a press release done by ELLE magazine, they have the new edition ready to feature this hallyu star Kim Ha Neul as she poses for the monthly publication magazine on Tuesday, January 19.

Through the magazine, readers can enjoy various “romantic gypsy style” clothings worn by the actress herself and plus also some fashion styling and travel tips from Kim Ha Neul.

She explained that blue jeans is a must-have item for traveling since it goes with basically anything. “It’ll keep you from worrying,” the actress explained. “But sometimes, to have special clothes available can add more fun while you’re traveling.”

In the ELLE magazine, her section is titled, “10 Techniques to Become a Wise Traveler”. Kim Ha Neul revealed some personal tips from her own travel experience such as, “bring a blank notebook with you rather than a book,” and “while you’re traveling, make sure to get up early, eat breakfast and drink lots of water” and also, she said to “take a facial pack for the night time.”

ELLE magazine February edition will be available next month and also available online at www.atzine.com.

Kim Ha Neul is currently working on her upcoming MBC drama, “Road No.1″ featuring hallyu star So Ji Sub. She is also well-known as a fashionista as she just launched her own online fashion magazine, “The Kim Haneul Magazine” through her official website (www.joneplus.co.kr/kimhaneul) earlier this month.

Kim Ha Neul launches online magazine on official website

According to her agency J. One Plus Entertainment, their hallyu actress Kim Ha Neul has launched an online magazine on her official website (www.joneplus.co.kr/kimhaneul). They said, “We plan to provide new and refreshing information about Kim Ha Neul on a monthly basis through the “HANEUL Magazine.” And he further explained that the magazine website, launching on Tuesday, will be the bridge of communication between her fans and e-commerce businesses affiliated with Kim Ha Neul herself.

The premiere issue of “HANEUL Magazine”, will be available in Korean and English. It’ll contain various contents related to her, including songs on her cellphone, her acting work and anecdotes, and also, fashion styling tips.

Kim Ha Neul sent her message through her magazine saying that she’s very grateful to all of her fans for their continued love and support. She added, “Let’s start the year on a good vibe.”

Since she’s also preparing for her upcoming drama, MBC’s “Road No. 1″ with another hallyu actor So Ji Sub, she said, “Soon I’ll be working with great director and fantastic actors and crew.” She has been set up to play the role of an army surgeon Kim Su Yeon who makes big sacrifices for her family in order to survive the war times in the drama, “Road No. 1″ – which is an epic war drama which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.

Yes! This is a great casting news!! :)  I can just imagine… hottie guy and gorgeous gal combo: SO JI SUB, and Kim Ha Neul… together they’ll rock ROAD No.1 ^_^

This is such a happy news for both the drama AND the fans. And if you’re like me, I’ve been waiting for So Ji Sub to come up on TV with someone…. compatible, like Kim Ha Neul. He’s hot, I get it, but it’ll be better to see him next to someone like Kim Ha Neul.

If at first I was kinda disappointed to see that “Will it snow for Christmas?” produced by the same director/writer combo for “I’m sorry I love you” and “What happened in Bali” couldn’t cast So Ji Sub, but now it’s all better. Kim Ha Neul is on board, and the drama itself will aim to air next summer. (Whaaat’. I know, I know… till long months to go, but it’ll be totally worth it.)

Kim Ha Neul is scheduled to comeback on TV and participates in MBC 60th Anniversary of Korean War – special magnum series, “Road No. 1″ (directed by Lee Jang Soo-Kim Jin Min; with Han Ji Hoon as the scriptwriter).

According to Kim Ha Neul, her character will appear as this strong, influential heroine. And according to the production company, Logos film, they’re very positive in casting Kim Ha Neul. From her side also has confirmed positively that Kim Ha Neul has been preparing for the role as she finds it very interesting.

“Road No.1″ will have a backdrop of Korean war 60 years ago, picturing strong promises of love and friendship, intending to impress its viewers with something so epic. What is it like to be destined to love one man, but through wounds and sacrifices, fate leads to another era beyond what the eyes have seen. They have also confirmed the male lead to be cast by So Ji Sub, which told that he fits the character beautifully.

Director Lee Jang Soo was the PD of “Stairway to Heaven”, and “the Sweet Life”, as well as “Time of Dog and Wolf”. While PD Kim Jin Min was responsible for co-directing the drama as he directed the mega-movie “Taekgukgi). The production has planned out their schedule between January-May 2010 and aiming for June next year broadcasting.
