Kim Hyun Joong declined offer to appear on “Family Outing” season 2

According to his agency, DSP Media on Thursday, SS501’s leader Kim Hyun Joong has declined the offer to appear in the new season of SBS variety show “Family Outing”. An official at DSP told Asia Economic Daily over the phone that although Kim Hyun Joong did receive the offer, he had “decided not to take on the show due to his conflicting work schedules and other issues.”

Producers of “Family Outing” have reportedly asked other idol group members — including Yoona (of Girls’ Generation), Daesung (Big Bang) and Taecyeon (2PM) — to be regulars on the new season. However, their agencies have all replied that “nothing has been decided”. Now that Daesung will be working on Song Jina’s drama, I don’t think he’ll take up on the offer, but we’ll see. I’m rooting for Taecyeon though! :) he’ll be great~ hee hee… maybe throw in Baek Ji Young also, and we’ll all set ;)

I’ve heard about this news about almost a month ago, but nothing was set yet. Apparently, they’re still forgoing with this and Kim Hyun Joong is on-board.

Kim Hyun Joong and Su Ae to star in Korean remake of “Kimi wa petto”

SS501 leader, Kim Hyun Joong will soon take on the lead debut of being an actor, according to his management source on Monday. The production team has apparently picked him up as the lead to cast in Korean remake drama of “You’re my pet” (Kimi wa petto), opposite of lead actress Su Ae. The drama will be directed by film director Kim Byung Gon.

“Kimi wa petto” is a Japanese TV series on TBS back in 2003, and based on an original comic series by Yayoi Ogawa. The drama is about an unexpected love between a successful, smart and good-looking fashion magazine editor (played by Su Ae) and a handsome guy (Kim Hyun Joong) who is adopted as a pet to the successful woman.

According to a rep from Kim’s agency, DSP Media, “We haven’t completely finished working on the contract but we’ll be done by the end of this week.”

As a member of the popular five-member K-pop band, Kim Hyun Joong as the leader has debuted earlier this year through KBS hit drama “Boys Over Flowers.” Let’s hope that his debut acting through “Kimi wa petto” will prove to his fans that he has been preparing himself (with acting lessons) for this role.

I have seen only the first few minutes of the Japanese dorama, but didn’t like it. To me it seems weird, calling someone, a human being as your ‘pet’. But I do hope the Korean one will make me want to see the original.

Kim Hyun Joong and the S-line model, late night CF shooting

Cosmetics brand Tony Moly unveiled their new CF model, none other than the one and only SS501 김현중 Kim Hyun Joong.

After recovering from his recent bad health problem, now Kim Hyun Joong is back, alive and kickin’. Fully recovered, he picked up his newest modeling project for one of South Korea cosmetics brand, Tony Moly, along with an S-line model to pose with him.

Tony Moly rep. mentioned that during the second half of filming their TV ads commercial, Kim Hyun Joong’s fans were wondering when the guy would appear. Since his part is apparently unveiled towards the end of the shooting schedule.

“We were shooting from morning till late at night, but despite of his recent health issues, Kim Hyun Joong was very professional and didn’t seem tired at all. We had a good shooting without interruptions,” reported by Tony Moly representative. The mission to this commercial is to show off another side of Kim Hyun Joong, to the contrary of his strong attraction image that people have known already. “They can expect a new look coming from him…”

Tony Moly CF featuring Kim Hyun Joong will be released in November, but the pictures from the photoshoot will be available through the website on October 17. The news clip about this photoshoot will also be broadcast on KBS2 “Entertainment Relay” on the same day.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong and his fellow SS501 members are currently preparing for the upcoming concert in Super Arena, Taipei this weekend, October 17. And as a part of their Asia tour concert, SS501 is currently preparing for their Asia tour concert in Taiwan and Taipei. Then on October 20, SS501 mini-album, “REBIRTH” will be released officially.

Kim Bum & Lee Min Ho, together again… attending SS501 Asia Tour Concert in Seoul.

Four years after their debut, idol group SS501 held their first Asia Tour Concert, starting with their home-based city, the Seoul concert.

Held yesterday (Korea time) August 1 at the Seoul Olympic Park – Gymnastics Stadium, and the fact that Kim Bum and Min Ho showed up, attracted more attention from the concert goers. This small reunion, though isn’t complete without Kim Joon, has brought many smiles to those lucky attendees, especially “Boys Over Flowers” & F4 fans ^^

And here’s Leader Kim Hyun Joong lookin’ all sleek and (still) hot. :-)

It’s so nice to see them again, especially leader Kim Hyun Joong after “Boys Over Flowers”. He’s no longer having that “Ji Hoo sunbae” vibe maybe ‘coz of the new hairstyle? o_O aigoo… I miss the old old hairstyle from Hyun Joong in “We Got Married” :D

Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) has appointed SS501 as their new ambassador

Idol group SS501 was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador on July 13 around 1pm at Gimpo Airport, Seoul by Korea Airport Corporation (KAC).

All the five members were there, including leader Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jeong Min, Heo Young Saeng and Kim Hyeong Joon.

On July 6, SS501 has just released their collection album and will start on their world tour next month, starting first with the Seoul’s concert on August 1-2. It is reported that all tickets for August 1-2 have been sold out. They’ll begin touring to Asia after that.
