To those of you JoongBo’s shippers, it’s old news to us in regards to his fluent Japanese. Thanks to “We Got Married”, we got to see him speaking in Japanese during his SS501 Japan activities where Hwangbo got to visit the studio with him (and did that ‘aaah’ sekshi voice with Hyun Joong. Haha.. I miss JoongBo~~~)

And now, Kim Hyun Joong proves to the fans and acts like a Leader in his fluent-speaking in answering those questions thrown at them (F4-Gu Hye Sun) during the SMAPxSMAP talkshow in Japan. The rest of the F4 members must be so dang proud of him :D (sigh, I love love love Hyun Joong’s hair and the style. He looks great! Stunning~ ♥♥♥)

Kim Hyun Joong’s visit to Japan drives fans crazy with his fluent Japanese

KBS2 TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” members, cast and crew visited Tokyo, Japan on April 15 to begin their Japan promo. Kim Hyun Joong has the best Japanese-speaking skill among the members, and he smartly led the group during the talkshow. With the last two years spent with his SS501 members in Japan, he seems to have sharpen his Japanese as he spoke fluently, answering questions thrown at him. With his Japanese skills, more than 300 fans were cheering for him and the rest of his F4 + Gu Hye Sun.

They appeared on TBS “Sakaseusang” live TV talkshow, located in Akasaka, Japan.

The first question asked by the host was, “Where do you want to go first in Japan?” Kim Bum and Lee Min Ho answered, “Harajuku”, Kim Joon answered, “Roppongi”, Gu Hye Sun said, “Ueno Park”, while Kim Hyun Joong said, “Because I love beef, I really want to try deopbapin 덮밥인 famous beef bowl, “gyudong” 규동(牛丼) that I heard it’s very delicious,” he answered in fluent Japanese.

Kim Hyun Joong’s answer to the question created laughter among the audience and host for about 2 minutes. More than 300 fans came to the studio to see the Korean F4, which felt like an impromptu and brief fanmeeting.

Next question was, “Do you have a memorable memory in Japan?” Lee Min Ho answered, “I’ve been to nolreoon 2 years ago with a friend, and I didn’t know how expensive the taxi fare was from the Tokyo airport to Shibuya. That was the price I won’t ever forget.” (laughs)

The price of taxi from airport to downtown is a close equal to an airfare round-trip.

For Gu Hye Sun, she was asked, “Who is your favorite F4 member?”, and her answer was Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong.

“Suma Suma” SMAPxSMAP TV talkshow program recording will be airing on the 16th at 2pm, and on the 20th, “Boys Over Flowers” F4 and crew held a fanmeeting at the JBC conference hall, Tokyo at 7pm.

What’s up with all the buttoned-up cardigan? he’s the youngest for pete’s sake! Lee Min Ho just loveeees to smile and smile. His stylist needs to get him a new hairdo PRONTO. He needs a Junpyo’s hair or something else… pleaseeee…  and Gu Hye Sun, well, she’s adorable, love the dress and the shoes, and that messy bun pony tail of hers ;) cute~  and lastly, Hyun Joong, I have absolutely NO complaint. Yes, with the belt too… he’s rockin’ it!)

A few hours later, the boys and BOF crew + Gu Hye Sun + SS501 & T-max arrived in Japan, and they’re looking fantabulous.

I love how glamour they look, without that airplane-hair… hee hee…

But, I can tell that the ‘loner’ F4 member is missing…

KBS 2TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” was broadcast in Japan on the 12th in a Korean channel. And today, April 15, the crew, F4 and Gu Hye Sun are going to Japan to do their Japan promo. They’ll be on Fuji TV, one of Japan’s biggest TV stations. Appearing also on “Suma Suma” (SMAP X SMAP), one of Japan’s Best Talk Show programs.

Members of SMAP, Takuya Kimura and Tsuyoshi Kusanagi have interviewed a number of celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Victoria Beckham, Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), and also Jang Dong Gun in their program.

F4 (Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon), also Gu Hye Sun will start their official Japan fanmeeting held in JCB Hall, Tokyo. Along with them, SS501 members and Kim Joon’s group, T-max will be attending also.

^lastly, seeing him wearing a ring on his left ring finger makes me uneasy >_> hmm… >_> what ring is that? promise ring? couple ring? >_> it sure looks like a gold wedding band :P

OMG, can his guy just give it a rest and call it a day?! tsk tsk… he collapsed and went to the hospital for duke’s sake. Sigh… hope this means he’s feeling much MUCH better now. He must be. Should be, right?

Kim Joon pushed to still go through with the scheduled fanmeeting

Despite of having to visit the hospital after he collapsed for fatigue after the Music Bank’s recording, Kim Joon still went ahead with the scheduled fanmeeting.

On April 3, after appearing on KBS2 Music Bank recording, he was brought to the hospital immediately, but was released the following day. Due to fatigue because of the heavy schedule from “Boys Over Flowers”, Kim Joon had to take a day off, but that doesn’t stop him to keep on working for his fans.

According to his management, Kim Joon’s much needed rest was cut short, and after he got discharged, he immediately needed to attend the fanmeeting that was already planned ahead. “Because of this and his promise to the fans, he intended to keep going as planned.”

Today, April 5, he went back to rest and is set to schedule for another break. On his agenda, he will join the rest of F4 to visit Tokyo, Japan and to start “Boys Over Flowers” promotional activities for the drama. TBS station has reported to buy the rights to air this popular drama around early Summer this year.

This is it. Tuesday, March 31 marked the long 3-month journey of “Boys Over Flowers”, and what am I feeling? Kinda empty, and a bit sad… because there’s no more Mondays and Tuesdays to look forward to. No more Gu Jun Pyo and Geum Jan Di, SoEulmate and Prince Song – which I seriously think the writer could’ve given him a subplot or something. Darn! Kim Joon could have some serious acting galore if only he’s given a side-story of his own instead of just the ’side-kick’ and everyone’s shoulder-to-cry-on =( I’m sorry, Prince Song… I hope you’ll be like Akira in the Japanese adaptation of “Hana Yori Dango”, where he has plenty of followers and try to make the ‘underground’ world a better place to do business. *lol*

Now that all the hypes are coming to an end, in some part of the country (in other parts, they’re probably still awaiting for it to air on their TV screen), how do you feel about it? Any ‘complaints’? Suggestion? Hatred…? etc..etc.. I’d love to hear them out! :)

The Golden Era of ‘Boys Over Flowers’ has finally ended.

‘Boys Over Flowers’ launched the careers of many fresh faces, including F4’s Lee Minho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon, Goo Hye Sun, Kim So Eun, and Lee Min Jung. The series left an overwhelming impact on the pop culture and continues to make headline news even after the last episode aired. The past few months have been recognized as ‘The Golden Era of BOF’.

• 4: Eye-candy F4 members

No one would argue that ‘Boys Over Flowers’ gained immense popularity because of the F4 members. They are without a doubt the top reason for the success of the KBS drama. The heir of the powerful Shinhwa Group, Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Minho), previous president’s grandson, Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong), prodigy ceramic potter, So Yi Jung (Kim Bum), and the heir of a real estate empire, Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon) all displayed unique personalities, but also grabbed the attention of many female fans with their almost-too-perfect good looks. It became almost impossible for female viewers to stay away from their televisions on Mon-Tues nights. Through ‘Boys Over Flowers’, Lee Minho, who at first was discouraged by many people, became a household name and the hottest rising star of 2009. Also, singers Kim Hyun Joong and Kim Joon successfully broke into the acting world, impressing everyone with their determination and hard efforts.

• 11: Number of cameo appearances that made ‘BOF’ shine even brighter.

Many will remember ‘Boys Over Flowers’ for it’s numerous cameo appearances. The first big star to make a surprise appearance was Han Chae Young, who played Yoon Ji Hoo’s first love, Min Suh Hyun. Although she only appeared for a couple episodes, she left the strongest impression among viewers. Goo Joon Pyo’s sister was played by Kim Hyun Joo (Goo Jun Hee) while his fiancee, Ha Jae Kyung, was played by Lee Min Jung.

Other cameos included Jung Eui Chul, who played two different roles as Lee Min Ha and Lee Jae Ha, Choo Gaeul’s boyfriend, Gong Soo Pyo (played by Lee Jung Joon), and Geum Jandi’s friend, Oh Min Ji (played by Lee Shi Young), who later betrays her. Yoon Ji Hoo’s grandfather was played by Lee Jung Gil, So Yi Jung’s playboy father So Hyun Sup was played by Kim Jong Jin, So Yi Jung’s older brother So Il Hyun was played by Im Joo Hwan, and, finally, So Yi Jung’s first love Cha Eun Jae was played by Park Soo Jin.

• 25: Series ends with an extended episode.

Initially, ‘Boys Over Flowers’ planned to end with episode 24. Goo Hye Sun’s car accident on Feb 27th resulted to scheduling conflicts, making it extremely difficult to shoot the entire series in the given time. The actress, who received stitches inside her mouth, was instructed to stay hospitalized for a couple of days; hence, filming was pushed back. KBS extended the series to episode 25 and filled the vacant time with a ‘Boys Over Flowers’ Special. On the 30th, producers expressed their opinions through the homepage: “The time that was given to us with the one extended episode was very awkward. We felt it was both overly done and not enough at the same time. Although we were accused of adding unnecessary kiss and flashback scenes, we had an obligation to wrap up the story in the given time.”

• 6000: The price of Goo Joon Pyo’s most expensive outfit.

Since ‘Boys Over Flowers’ tells the story of four extremely wealthy characters, the outfits worn by these actors needed to level up with their social statuses. F4 stylist, Jung Hye Jin, commented, “We dressed the F4 members like European princes. The most expensive outfit was worth $6000. The fur jacket was worn by Goo Joon Pyo when he officially announced Geum Jandi as his girlfriend to the Shinhwa High students (episode 5).” Group Eight’s Song Byun Joon representative also stated, “The F4 members never wore the same outfit twice. Some might look similiar to others, but they are not. About 90% of Goon Joon Pyo’s outfits were custom made. We tried to give all our characters an iconic look and spent more than $100,000 just on clothings.”

• 3000: Number of fans that gathered on outdoor sets.

‘Boys Over Flowers’ became well known for the number fans it gathered. Dae Goo’s Kae Myung University, which set the background for some of the school scenes, attracted over 3000 fans. A representative stated, “We were shocked by the number of fans that visited the set. After that, we weren’t able to shoot at Kae Myung University for over a month.”

During other wild fan encounters, officials were called to help main control and safety. When 2000 fans gathered for one of the outside shoots, 100 police officers were called in. The location of Geum Jandi and Choo Gaeul’s part time job was also crowded with about 200-300 fans daily. Even with it’s popularity, ‘Boys Over Flowers’ experienced the same amount of heartache and suffering.
