On July 3, Shinhwa 10th Anniversary 9th album came out with the “White Edition” Limited Edition Repackage and about 20,000 albums will be available for public. This repackage version will have their newly released track, “Destiny of Love” 흔적 (track 3), originally intended for their first edition 9th album, but was later withdrawn by Shinhwa who thought the song hasn’t met their high standards yet.
This news has certainly brought much relief and joy for fans who missed out on the chance to grab a copy of Shinhwa’s previously released 10th anniversary commemorative album. Each of the repackaged “White Edition” comes with a hologram bearing a number between 1 and 20,000.
“Kicking off with the sound of pouring rain, “Destiny of Love” 흔적 stirs deep emotions and memories about a heartbreaking romance. Featuring the group’s enchanting vocals and Eric’s smooth-talking rap repertoire and sexy narration, the song was composed by none other than Lee Min Woo who teamed up with Shin Hye Sung for its lyrics, delivering a captivating work of art. This edition comes with a 120-page photobook featuring never-before-seen photos and a poster stored in a cardboard tube.” (yesasia.com)

It’s been a long wait for many fans; K-pop’s biggest reunion is finally happening right before our very own eyes! Yoon Gun and Na Ul of Korean R&B duo Brown Eyes finally patched up their differences after years of disbandment. Their new album Two Things Needed For The Same Purpose and 5 Objects is not only igniting a major spark in the stagnant music industry, but it’s also hitting the emotional highs with numerous fans who have long been crossing their fingers for the duo’s reunion. Containing a total of 14 tracks lathered in the duo’s trademark harmony, Brown Eyes spent more than a month per song, retooling and editing until perfection. Yoon Gun and Na Ul, the album’s co-executive producers, collaborated with Grammy award-winning producer/sound engineer Goh Hotoda, whose A-list resume includes names like Baby Face and Madonna.
Composed by Yoon Gun and penned by Gary of Leessang, Don’t Leave Don’t Leave (Gajima Gajima) is a 3-beat uptempo ballad that highlights the duo’s smothering vocals. The song triggers many emotions involved when facing a breakup. Bringing back the familiar sentiments from the duo’s 2001 hit Already A Year, Nur dte moon ae exudes the duo’s classic essence while offering a big-scale sound, unique from their earlier style of music. Responsible for introducing R&B sounds to the mainstream market in Korea, the duo continues to set new trends, blending their signature sounds with a variety of musical genres from uptempo and mid-tempo ballads to electronic house, Latin soul, and R&B.

These two songs are really unique, as if Soulja and Aoyama Thelma are having a conversation through their songs, in which they’re featured in each other’s album. These two songs remind me a lot of the “Gi Chan said”/”Dang Ja said” featured songs in the drama “Bad Couple” (read about it here)
*lyrics by: kiwi-musume.com*
Soulja said, “I’m here” (Koko Ni Iru Yo) [DL LINK] - from the guy’s point of view, this song starts off with a conversation between Soulja and Aoyama Thelma. The rapped lyrics expresses a heartfelt feelings from Soulja’s point of view. And though this song is supposed to be Soulja’s song, as Aoyama is featured in this song, her voice highlights the entire song, as if Soulja is really making it special for her to say that “I’m here”
Baby boy, I’m here, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why you don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
Me, so clumsy, and you, far away
With me still unable to tell you how I felt, you went away
Now you remain only in my album
These days we can only meet via the airwaves, but I can’t see your smile
Your warmth, the smell of your hair; as the days went by
My thirst for you was unquenched, and I searched desperately for a trace of you
On the road I often walked down with you, the only sound now was my footsteps
But enough of that, how are you? Are you eating properly?
Dammit, I just can’t say it
I’ll send you another letter from me soon
Baby boy, I’m here, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why you don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
I saw you on the sand dunes in Kamakura; the words I wanted to say were swallowed up in the waves
This is really painful; I’m a guy…so why won’t the words come?
Do you remember? When I was at karaoke with you
The words to the song I picked were on the screen
The truth was, I wanted to tell you
The day we got together, just the two of us, for the first time
We played around like we met by chance
I wanted to say “I can’t forget your smile”
But I got pretty off-topic, huh? You get what I want to say, right?
Shit, I’ve run out of space to write
Sorry, next time I’ll definitely send it
Baby boy, I’m here, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why you don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
If I was richer, if I had a more serious job
If I’d been able to suffer through everything, I know I could…
But please, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t want to make you lonely, but
I’m busy so I can’t really talk, but
Baby believe kore wa all for our future
But to be honest, I want to see you right now, I want to hold you right now
Now there’s nobody sitting in that seat where you used to sit next to me…
Well, that’s no biggie, that wasn’t what I wanted to say
It’s probably too late, but I’ll pour out the words I’ve been wanting to say all this time, and send it to you, my unsent letter
Baby girl, I’m here, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why you don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
Baby boy, I’m here, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know I love you, and that’s why you don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
Now I can come out and say it
I don’t eva wanna let you go
Then, Aoyama Thelma said, “I’m by your side” (Soba ni Iru ne) [DL LINK] -as to correspond to Soulja’s song, Soba ni Iru ne tells it from a girl’s point of view. And it was told that the additional lyrics were written by both of them as to strengthen the love story that was first introduced in Koko ni Iru yo.
I still
Love you, even now
No matter how much time goes by
I’m by your side baby, always
So, no matter how far apart we are
You’re always with me
In my heart, but I’m lonely
So baby please just hurry back home
Baby boy, I’m here
I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why
You don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
But enough of that, how are you?
Are you eating properly?
Dammit, I just can’t say it
I’ll send you another letter from me soon
I can’t take back the time that’s gone by
But I miss you, you were so close to me
But the more our distance grew
The more I acted busy
I was running away
But when I close my eyes, when I try to sleep
I can’t run away from you
When I thought of you, I cried alone
I still
Love you, even now
No matter how much time goes by
I’m by your side baby, always
So, no matter how far apart we are
You’re always with me
In my heart, but I’m lonely
So baby please just hurry back home
Baby boy, I’m here
I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why
You don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
Me, so clumsy, and you, far away
With me unable to tell you how I felt
You went away
Now you remain only in my album
More than the days whose memories are stored in my album
I miss those little moments
And now, waiting for you to call
I fell asleep still holding my cellphone
I’m won’t go anywhere, I’ll be here
But I want to look into your eyes
Know what I mean? I’m waiting for you
Baby boy, I’m here
I won’t go anywhere, I’ll be waiting for you
You know that I love you, and that’s why
You don’t need to worry
No matter how far apart we are, my love won’t change
You know what I mean?
I’m waiting for you (waiting for you)
I’m won’t go anywhere, I’ll be here
But I’ll keep searching for your face
When I reach out, feeling like I can still touch your smile
You…
I still
Love you, even now
No matter how much time goes by
I’m by your side baby, always
So, no matter how far apart we are
You’re always with me
In my heart, but I’m lonely
So baby please just hurry back home
I still
Love you, even now
No matter how much time goes by
I’m by your side baby, always
So, no matter how far apart we are
You’re always with me
In my heart, but I’m lonely
So baby please just hurry back home
When I first heard Soulja’s track, the sounding intro lured me in and I was attracted to Soulja’s rapping right away. And now, months later, after finding out more about the lyrics, and listening to both tracks, WOW. Very impressive! There’s not a lot of songs like these, so I’d always like to mention those special, rare ones.
And.. they’re back!
Brian and HwanHee (Fany), the king of R&B, the awesome duo, soothing voice and of course, they look great together and they’ve been friends as long as they’ve been known as “Fly to the sky”
I’ve been following their footsteps since day 1 (when I first ’stepped’ into the Korean world lol), and never looked back since. Their albums are always done in style, and since HwanHee has now debuted in the acting world as an actor, I’ll cover his new drama in another post.
But first thing first, their newest album is out! *excited*
Official release date is tomorrow, April 24th, but you guys get the insider scoop first *wink~*
It’s called “RECOLLECTION”, and as the album mentions, its tracklistings consist of those ‘recollected’ tracks like for example, Kim Dong Ryul’s song Chi joong jin dam (Track 2), Panic’s Dal peng ee (”Snail” - Track 6), Park Ki Young’s Majimak Sarang (”Last Love” - Track 3), Cool’s Hanjang eh choo uk (Track 10), and Turbo’s Whe Sang (Track 4).
